THE MEANING OF THE TAN ORDER

This is also called The Order of Sandalphon. Sandalphon, supposedly the ancient prophet Elijah, who never saw death, but was caught by a fiery chariot and carried into the sky and out of sight, while Elisha, his student, looked on. So one might also say that the Tan Order is The Order of Elijah.

Sandalphon, in Urianism, is concerned with earthly monotheistic unity (ecumenicalism), yet also in true piety and purity in approaching God.

Yet, this also corresponds to the Kingdom, or Malkuth in Kabbalah. It is an order devoted to practical works - becoming the very hands and feet of The Lord.

In a fully realized religion, the members of the Tan (or brown) Order are those literally build places of worship, raise barns, build the sacred civilization, but also get out into the community and offer practical support to their brothers and sisters - from child care to fixing a car, etc... etc. This may not seem glamorous, but it is really the most important or needful thing in any faith community.

The boards of the Order of Sandalphon (Tan Order) are a place to post practical things - preferably survival craft, life hacks, practical advise, best building practices, ways to live off grid, or live frugally. Also, subjects like religious architecture, communal farming, etc.
