Magick and The Paranormal
Original post by James Meadows

Monologue 3 deals with the subject of the Afterlife and Monologue 37 assigns the roles of the different Orders and their callings. Monologues 57 speak sdirectly to learning techniques by which clergy might communicate with spirits.
I don't recall having taken any "sacred oath" to not speak to the dead, but The Bible and The Ahyeh makes it clear you should not, and you can be put to death in Islam for engaging in any form of "sorcery." Indeed, Judaism, in its early form had very strict rules on this subject. Our views are different from theirs.
The archangel's are like princes and governors over states/nations of the Light, and the Seven Lords of our solar system certainly frown on all things arcane. Uriel, who operates at a Galactic level, with others, has often taught human theurgists the secrets of the universe - whether in the Book of Enoch or revealing the system of Enochian Magic. Uriel loves to talk, in point of fact, and is the most talkative and friendly, in my experience, and if you investigate this archangel, his/it/her portfolio is quite diverse. Uriel's revelation (that is to say God's Light shining) makes license for what the Abrahamic religions have forbidden, but only under certain limits and restrictions.
If you study Judaism, however, you will realize that divination was forbidden, IF YOU'RE NOT A PRIEST. Certain priests seemed to have had the gift of prophecy, and people would go to these priests, who would go to God with requests and inquiries, and there were methods given by which to receive answers, and often such was merely "The Voice," or "In a Dream." The prophets themselves were, in another word, "Seers." Like the early apostles, they wielded power, could talk to God, cavorted with angels, and even had encounters with the dead.
The Zoroastrians had the Magi of course, who were masters of astrology/astronomy, and were, in effect Seers and Magicians - but focused on and rooted in Ahura Mazda (Lord Wisdom).
It must be made clear, that every "prophet" was in a sense, a medium. God, and/or an archangel as a personification of an attribute or path thereof, entered into the human or incarnate, and spoke or worked through them. This is what, "The Inspired Word of God," means. To be inspired, is to be a channel for the divine, either to act as a scribe (writing what is being told) or a voice (speaking what is being told). Every prophet is a medium, and more than this, a mystic.
Almost always such individuals go through some great trauma(s) in their lives, that have opened them, and they have wandered in the wilderness (literally or figuratively), had all material comforts ripped away, and faced deprivation and come near-death, and spend a great deal of their time meditating, praying, and just talking to and listening to God/archangels/angels. If you encounter such individuals unobserved, they carry on entire conversations with people you cannot see, all the time... Dismissed out of hand, as imaginary friends. In modern terms, they might be considered Schizophrenic.
I refer you to the Book of Judas, which describes how Jesus himself suffered to be in the world, was unhappy here, and wanted out so much as to arrange his own death with Judas (his best friend), in such a way as to fulfill prophecy.
In Judaism, as among the Magi and the Gnostics, ritualism was a thing, and as a way to psychologically enact and playout certain aims and goals and visualized outcomes... This is illustrated in the Book of Ezekiel quite well... But also in the priestly operations laid down to the Aaronic and Levitical priesthoods in the Hebrew Scriptures. Remember also, when the people were about to stone a woman for adultery, but put Jesus to the test, how he started writing in the sand - he was literally asking God for the answer (auto-writing). Wandering in the wilderness brought Jesus, as it had the prophets before him, to the edge of death, and in such a state he had what is called an Near-Death-Experience -- probably in a rolling way (living on that edge for weeks).
FOR URIANS OF THE ORDER OF GABRIEL:
In matters of the paranormal, BLESS EVERYTHING. Pray over and visualize the divine light going into any instrument you use. I often use a Kindle App that I've had amazing results with, called a Ghost Com. I do not seek to communicate with Ghosts, however, but always bless it, pray over it, and sanctify it intensely, and reach out to God and the angelic as I start any session with it.
Investigating hauntings, a Urians goal is not to communicate with the dead, but instruments that do not directly bring the dead into you, are acceptable, so long as they are sanctified unto God... Our goal, should always be "rescue," and "sanctification."
It is pretty clear, in our teachings, that one should never seek to channel the dead, let alone demons, though, once you become a medium, you will get jumped from time to time (which is to say, they will just come in, uninvited, without warning). In such experiences with the dead, I've found myself overwhelmed by the utter horror and sorrow (beyond speaking or description) that such souls exist in. It's devastating - and it reduced me to wailing and sadness of great intensity, and I felt only sympathy with them. And if they reach out to you, you're not cavorting with them, they are cavorting with you - usually because they need help and you, as the medium, glow like a beacon in the lower astral world all around us.
Every Urian in good standing (having a solid relationship with God and the Christ-Consciousness) can pray souls into the Light - intercede, advocate, plead for God's love and mercy upon the given soul.
A soul that is caught between, is a soul that still has hope, and we should seize upon that opportunity, to do what the early Christians called, "Baptism of the Dead." That is, pray for them, bless them, preach aloud to them, and then use your authority as a believer and a servant of God, to open (in vision and prayer) a portal to The Light, and send them into it. Indeed, for anyone in your life who dies, pray for them every day, bless them repeatedly, speak to them aloud to instruct them in where to go, and who to call on... And visualize them, will them, into The Most High.
We should not investigate ghosts to communicate with ghosts, but to help them move on. Indeed, when encountering demons, I even pray them and will them into the Most High - because they most hate and fear that Limitless Living Light, and love is a more powerful weapon against evil spirits than is hating them back. Uriel's original messages, not contained in the current writings, were actually a call to the fallen angels, to repent and a method of penitence was offered to them, at long last. They had to but lay their crowns down at the feet of The One, denounce their evil ways, and make every effort to serve The One from now to the end of days.
Now, I must also say plainly, any true Urian who has passed over, IS NOT DEAD. We talk to Jesus, we talk to saints - and this is not forbidden in Christianity... Jesus was a man who died, right? Our God is the God of the Living - and all who love and seek God are eternally alive. If you don't believe this, you are as good as an atheist. Our brothers and sisters in the Way are our patron saints, our companions and friends and loved ones forever - they are our eternal family. If you forsake your eternal family, simply because they have passed to the other side of the veil, and have joined the ranks of the immortals, what kind of person are you really?
We don't have to let go of people because they have died... That is cold and mean and stupid, because they are still alive!!! Stop acting as if they are gone - like the godless and the unbelievers do. If you don't really believe in life after death, then don't keep pretending to be a believer.
Furthermore, The Ahyeh cosmology clearly points out the existence of Purgatory and Limbo, as well as Avalon.
If you take an eternal vow to your spouse, you are still married to that person, even if they die!!! See "Rites of Marriage Page 260 - Sacred Marriage"). Our goal is everlasting life, immortal life as spiritual beings, not dissolution or reincarnation, ghost'ing, nor sleep in some grave somewhere. Urianism rejects the notion of Soul Sleep outright. The Spirit World is eternal, unbound by time, and so all that will happen has happened... The resurrection of the dead that some believe is a future event, is and has happened always.
All that we do, as members of the Order of Gabriel, whether reading Tarot for someone, or channeling an angel or fairy spirit, or a facet of The One, is done in a prayerful, meditative and sanctified way - or it should not be done. If we seek to summon an angelic being or fairy spirit (elders), we are doing so in God's power, not our own, and in The Spirit are we empowered, and great care and discipline is required to have any hope of success in such matters. Yet, we Urians are not forbidden to do such things... And to forbid it, is to be in defiance of the Light we have received. If you are a Jew, follow the Jewish law... And if a Muslim, follow the ways of your faith... But if you are Urian, yours is the direction of Prismia - the Rainbow Universe toward which we strive, where as immortals we will reign and serve with the Cosmic-Trans-universal Christ, to bring unto all worlds the Word and the Way to the One (for fun!!!).
Anyway, such is my defense of the ways of the Order of Gabriel, as the first priest thereof.
